[00:00] What happened with you this week? - It's Phil Lester's birthday today (off of Dan and Phil obviously) and so there's a real party atmosphere in the podcast studio. We've been making some of our own parody versions of our Top 100 YouTube videos! We thought this would be a fun thing to do. Check them out on the Top 100 page. So far we've done the flying penguins, the penguin falls down, YouTubers react and try not to laugh, and the Yee dinosaur.
Next week we'll be playing a fantastic new Instagram game - we don't know anything more about that so far, so this is breaking news. And then there's talk about sock sniffing videos on YouTube, the winner of the American lottery's $1.5 billion jackpot, and Liv has a go at that clever math's trick that everyone is talking about at the moment, to work out her shoe size and age. It's all very scientific and clever, especially when it does actually work first time!
[04:50] Making YouTube Videos - As we are often asked how to make YouTube videos and get more subscribers and views, we've put together this fact-filled feature to help out all of you budding filmmakers and YouTubers, hopefully. So if you want to know the best ways to get people watching your YouTube videos and get more subscribers, then listen and learn, and let us know if this has helped you. Tips range from holding your camera up the right way, using tripods and softbox lighting, to editing, the importance of keywords, and how to get the most out of the Video Manager function on your wonderful YouTube control panel. Check out our How To Get More YouTube Subscribers page for more information on this one-off feature.
[11:30] Good News - There are lots of happy, feel-good stories going on in the news this week, there's just so much to talk about. Mary Berry has turned down Strictly because she prefers making cakes, JK Rowling trashed a hotel room and has just bought Johnny Depp's very expensive yacht, the new Top Gear show has run into more problems, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult have been seen chatting, but which A-lister Hollywood celebrity has been spotted kissing and cuddling with Miley Cyrus? Then there's talk about man flu, the new craze for souping, Cadbury's Creme Eggs, and Brooklyn Beckham's new Justin Bieber-inspired hairstyle - we're not keen Brooks.
[16:45] The Big Bag of Random - We're still not tired of the jingle for this feature, it's definitely one of our favourites. We just love playing this game, where we basically have five minutes to answer a whole bunch of random questions. These include favourite band members, relaxing or exploring, future plans, getting older, Dan and Phil, best times ever, shopping, keeping pets, school, friends, perfect days out, ice cream flavours, chick flicks vs horror movies, Lush bath bombs and pamper evenings - basically, it's all very, very random.
[23:25] End of the Show Time - The show is rounded up and we find out that Adele has broken YouTube records with her wonderful arty black and white video to Hello. We liked the bit where she turned on the gas cooker and used her mobile phone. And then what's all this about fast-food being slow-food in McDonald's, causing one hungry guy huge embarrassment when he was mistaken as a homeless man eating ketchup?!
