Picture of girl putting on makeup in mirrorI don't like to cover my face with make-up, but I don't ever feel fully dressed without a spot of eye shadow at the very least. The other day my friend spent ages putting on her make-up and looked really nice, and then she remembered that she was just about to go swimming!

My favourite cosmetic brands and products include the following, some of which are fairly cheap and affordable, while others I have had to save up for in order to get exactly what I wanted. These were all featured on my 'Make-Up Haul' video on YouTube:

Eye Shadow

We have tried all kinds of eye shadow and it doesn't take a genius to work out that the cheaper ones are usually pretty rubbish. However, if your eye shadow is rather gritty and doesn't cover your eyelids very well, it is worth investing in some eye primer, which helps make it considerably easier to apply, with the covering being much smoother and making it look far nicer.

If you are happy to spend a bit of money, then Naked by Urban Decay (1, 2 and 3 palettes) is pretty good, but it is not cheap, being around £40 per palette.

Face Powder Make-Up / Cosmetics

Have you ever had the problem where you have bought some powder / bronzer and dropped it? Well, it happened to us quite recently and it was such a nuisance, because the powder ended up all cracked and not useable at all. Fear not, because there is a solution.

Grind up all of the powder in a pestle and mortar, or similarly - you could put it in a plastic bag and use a rolling pin to break it up. Mix up the powder with some clear hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol (such as surgical spirits) until you have made a paste. Carefully spread your paste back into the container and leave it to dry overnight. And then the next day - good as new.
