Making Our Small Gingerbread House Village at Christmas
It's not really Christmas without some gingerbread houses, so we thought we'd have a go at making a biscuit village. The houses didn't last long though, because we ate them straight after the video!
We love making gingerbread houses each Christmas and if you can't be bothered to make your biscuit shapes from scratch, then buying yourself a simple kit like the one that we used is a very sensible solution. It means that you can concentrate on being creative with your icing and decorating, rather than baking and burning. Our top tip would be to make sure that you use plenty of royal icing to stick everything together, and then wait until it is nice and hard before you start to stick your sweets onto the roof - otherwise the whole gingerbread house might collapse.
