The Nili Pod: Good News (30 April 2016)

Nia's Blogging and Vlogging Website

There's never a dull week when it comes to the news and general human interest stories, which so often seem to involve A-lister celebrities doing silly things, or behaving very, very badly.

This week manufacturers of Justin Bieber dolls gasped in horror when he unveiled his new shaven haircut, and thank goodness that those ugly dreadlocks are gone for good now. And then Prince Harry and the Queen had a bit of a laugh on camera, and Simon Cowell dressed up in a scary mask and pretended that he was Hannibal the Cannibal.

Fighting Talk from Prince Harry
Photo of Prince Harry and the Queen from Invictus Games videoPrince Harry is known for being the founder of the acclaimed Invictus Games, where injured army personnel and veterans compete in a Paralympic-style sports competition. Wishing to give the event maximum publicity, Prince Harry teamed up with some of the world's most important people to make a rather clever and amusing promotional video, namely his grandmother the Queen and the President of the United States, Barack Obama.

President Obama and his wife Michelle playfully teases Prince Harry with a video of them saying ''Hey Prince Harry! Remember when you told us to bring it at the Invictus Games? Be careful what you wish for.' And then the Prince pays a visit to see the Queen, showing her this clip, to which she says with a cheeky smirk 'Oh really? Please!'

New Hairstyle for Justin Bieber - Already?!
Image of Justin Bieber and his shaved buzzcut haircutAfter recently showing off his statement dreadlocks hairstyle, which received a rather lukewarm response by fans, Justin Bieber has decided to surprise everybody again by changing his hairstyle, another time.

Justin has just posted pictures of his new buzzcut, showing how he had his dreadlocks shaved right off, leaving a very short spiky crewcut. There is no denying that Justin would manage to look cool and handsome, whatever his hairstyle was. He even managed to style out slipping over on stage recently, during his sold-out Purpose world tour.

Have We All Been Washing Our Hair Wrong?
Expert hair boffins have spoken out this week in a rather bold statement, claiming that we've all been washing our hair completely wrong. They have said that just like washing your face every day, we should also be washing our hair every day as well. However, other people strongly disagree with daily hair washing, saying that this is only really necessary for oily scalps and that those with drier scalps can get away with a weekly wash.

Other people have chimed in saying that it is also important to take into account the thickness of your hair, as well as the length. In fairness, it all sounds really rather obvious, so I think that it is best to let people decide how often they need to wash their hair themselves. I don't want anyone telling me, thanks all the same, and it seems like these so-called experts are all saying different things anyway, as they so often do.

Simon Cowell is Hannibal the Cannibal
Photo of Simon Cowell as Hannibal the CannibalAs part of the promo for the latest series of America's Got Talent, Simon Cowell has dressed up as a rather sinister looking Hannibal Lecter, the fictional cannibal from the Silence of the Lambs movie (starring Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster).

Cowell can be seen with a rather unpleasant looking face mask as part of this teaser trailer, with Mel B. saying 'Is he really going to behave himself'? After having the mask removed, Simon then exclaims 'Is all of this really necessary? I don't actually bite!'
