Review of 'The Very Best of Prince'
Following the sudden and very unexpected death of Prince, it is no great surprise that his best singles and albums have zoomed to the top of the charts once again. This particular greatest hits album is especially good and features many of his most commercial and well-known hits, such as 1999, Kiss, When Doves Cry and Alphabet Street, as well as Purple Rain of course.
The 'Very Best of Prince' album was released back in the summer of 2001 by Warner Bros Records and sold almost 200,000 copies during the week following his untimely death, meaning that it went straight to the number one spot of the Billboard 200 charts.
For me, the amazing thing about the music of Prince is the fact that it seems to be completely timeless and remains quite current, whatever your age.
