NiliPod - Baked Camembert Cheese Recipe

Nia's Blogging and Vlogging Website

What could be simpler than putting a circular portion of round Camembert cheese in the oven for ten minutes, and then eating it with some crusty bread. It's hardly even a recipe at all, it's that simple.

Done correctly, it really is a bit like having a ready made fondue just waiting to be baked. And the best part is not only is this incredibly easy, but it is incredibly delicious, being perfect if you are looking to impress your guests but don't have much time on your hands.

The Camembert can be flavoured with a few rosemary sprigs and a clove of garlic, or perhaps some tasty chunks of chorizo sausage, or just served plain and as it is. The choice is yours.

Recipe Ingredients

250 grams / 9 oz of Camembert cheese (approximately)
Fresh rosemary (optional)
1 clove of garlic (optional)
Crusty bread, cut into cubes

Method

This is unbelievably simple. Unwrap your cheese and place it into a small ovenproof dish. Slice the garlic clove into small pieces and poke these through the top of the cheese skin, along with some sprigs of fresh rosemary.

Cook in the microwave for just three minutes, or in an oven at 150°C for around 15 minutes. Serve immediately while the Camembert is hot and melted, using the cubes of bread (and vegetables perhaps) to dip into the runny cheese - and enjoy the simplest fondue meal that you could possibly ever cook.
